I will use performance for this verse, as it will introduce my artist in the music video so the audience can see who the singer is, and what the song is about. This will look good with a close up or a medium shot of my artist.

I can start the narrative in this verse, and show my singer/actor looking upset and that he misses his ex-girlfriend, it will emphasise the lyric "should've gave you all my hours when I had the chance", which shows his regret

My pride, my ego, my needs, and my selfish ways
Caused a good strong woman like you to walk out my life
Now I never, never get to clean up the mess I made, ohh…
And it haunts me every time I close my eyes

I can show narrative for the lyric "haunts me every time I close my eyes", I could have an extreme close up of the artist/actor closing their eyes.

I can use shots to show the narrative here, as the actor will be looking at an old photo frame and realises it was all his fault

I can end the last verse with both performance and narrative. I can show the actor walking away, so the camera will pan away from him. And on the last line "when I was your man", which is the title of the song, I can end it with the artist singing the line.
